Who is Jeremy Hendon?

Above all else, I value curiosity, play, and connection.

But that's just the broad strokes, so here's a bit more detail about me...

A Long, Long Time Ago...

(Yes...I'm a huge Star Wars fan...)

I've been lucky my whole life.  I attended amazing schools (like UC Berkeley) and after graduating, I worked as a real estate lawyer at two amazing law firms.

But despite it all, I never felt truly satisfied or content.  I wanted more freedom, more excitement, and more meaning.  I wanted to live the good life, whatever that meant.

So in 2011...I took the proverbial leap, I quit my job, and I started my first business.

I Believed that Happiness, Success, and Enlightenment were All Right Around the Corner...

But despite everything going pretty well, I never felt truly satisfied or content.  I kept feeling like something was missing.

I spent a lot of time looking for answers.  I traveled, started a few companies, and went through more 'personal development' than you might believe.

Along the way, I found a few answers - and my wife, Louise, usually reminds me of any answers that I forget.  (Sort of joking here...)

What I Learned (aka My Origin Story)

At first, I was terrible at pretty much every part of running a business. And personally, I wasn't very good at handling adversity.  So while I was very smart, my perspective was limited.

Plus, I was way too attached to money for a while. I still love making money, but there are several things I love much more: learning, helping people and companies find ways to connect with themselves, each other, and their customers, and finding ways to help people (including me) learn to really (and seriously) play again.

That's Why I Do Everything I Do...

I want to build more curiosity, connection, and play among individuals, but also among companies, organizations, and even governments.

Here's a glimpse of what I've personally done...

  • Built multiple businesses to at least six figures per year in profit.
  • Automated my businesses so that I can travel the world
  • Founded and sold 2 magazines.
  • Spoken on stages around the world (from Atlanta to China to Italy).
  • Grown email lists to over 200,000 active subscribers.
  • Created videos with 1,000,000+ YouTube views.
  • Built apps with 500,000+ downloads.
  • Had my company featured on nationally syndicated TV.
  • Authored or co-authored multiple books that have sold thousands of copies.
  • Lived in Japan, Scotland, China, Canada, France, Thailand, Taiwan, and Portugal.
  • Petted lions in Africa.
  • Spent most of my adult life exploring the world's most historical and interesting food and wine destinations (from Burgundy to Tokaji to Kyoto to Barolo to Napa to the McLaren Vale).
  • Played with village children on mountains in Thailand.
  • Lost 20 pounds (80% fat) in 10 weeks.

(Really, though, I've spent most of my adult life in search of the world's best food.)

I am Motivated Entirely by Curiosity, Play, & Connection

Every child is curious and playful, and we all want to feel connected.

But we also forget most of these things. We stifle curiosity and play, and we neglect connection.

I help individuals and companies find more curiosity and connection, but often in unorthodox ways.  I believe that stories, play, and experiencing the world around us are the keys to rekindling curiosity and connection. And I know - both from my experience and from much recent research - that these things drive success and happiness.

And if you are a company, your need to connect with customers is greater than ever, and you can't do it without becoming a part of their own stories and myths.

I am obsessed with great food and wine...

How Can I Help You?

I've accomplished a few things in my life, and I've learned a lot more. So if my experience can be of help to you or your organization, I'd love to explore how I can help.

I do a limited amount of coaching, but I mostly consult (primarily on marketing) and speak (on story, myth, and play - as they relate to your marketing, sales, productivity, and innovation).

I don't have everything figured out. I'm not enlightened and living in a peaceful bliss (at least not that I'm aware of).

If there's any way I can help you or your organization, please reach out and let me know.
